At ReEmployAbility, we know how important it is to volunteer and contribute to the community around you. ReEmployAbility supports nonprofits around the country by providing volunteers through our Transiton2Work® Program, and helping injured workers heal through meaningful work. We also choose nonprofit organizations to support so we can continue our vision that anyone can make an impact in their community.

For Earth Day and Arbor Day, the ReEmployAbility team chose to support the Arbor Day Foundation to plant trees in Superior National Forest in Minnesota. We planted a tree for every person that submitted a referral through our online referral form as well as hosted an internal fundraising drive. With our clients and employees help, we were able to plant 300 TREES – making the world a little greener for all!

In the last 50 years, the Arbor Day Foundation has planted and distributed nearly 500 million trees in more than 50 countries around the world. They have partnered with the U.S. Forest Service to replant forests that have been affected by fire, insect infestation, disease, or weather.

Check out some of these Tree Facts from the Arbor Day Foundation:

  • Roadside trees reduce nearby indoor air pollution by more than 50%.
  • One large tree can provide a day’s supply of oxygen for up to four people.
  • More than 20% of the world’s oxygen is produced in the Amazon Rainforest.
  • In one year, an acre of mature trees absorbs the amount of CO2 produced by a car driven 26,000 miles.
